Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Monnei (the "App"), operated by Ed Alpez ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. About Monnei
Monnei is a personal expense tracking application available on iOS and Android. It helps you manually log expenses, set budgets, manage recurring transactions, and — for Premium subscribers — access AI-powered financial insights and an AI chat assistant.
Monnei is not a bank, financial institution, or regulated financial advisor. The App and any content it produces, including AI-generated analysis, does not constitute financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making significant financial decisions.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Monnei. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App.
3. Account Registration
You must create an account to use Monnei. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately at alpezed@gmail.com.
4. Free Tier
Monnei offers a free tier that includes manual expense tracking, monthly budgets, recurring transaction management, spending insights, multi-currency support, and biometric security. The free tier is provided at no cost and may be used indefinitely.
5. Premium Subscription
What's included
A Premium subscription unlocks AI-powered features including the AI Chat Assistant, AI Spending Analysis, AI Auto-Categorisation, custom categories, unlimited recurring transactions, and advanced budget views.
Billing
Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, available as a monthly or annual plan. All billing is processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store — we do not directly handle payment information. Subscription pricing is displayed in the App and may vary by region.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for unused portions of a subscription period, except where required by law.
Free trials
Where a free trial is offered, it will convert automatically to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before it ends.
6. AI Features Disclaimer
AI Chat and AI Spending Analysis are powered by third-party large language model providers. AI responses are generated based on the expense data you have entered and are provided for informational purposes only. They may contain errors or inaccuracies. Monnei makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content for any purpose.
7. Your Data
You retain ownership of the financial data you enter into Monnei. You grant us a limited licence to store and process your data solely to operate the App and provide its features. We do not claim ownership of your data and do not sell it to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise tamper with the App
- Use the App to transmit any harmful, abusive, or illegal content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App's infrastructure
9. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and trademarks in the App are the property of Monnei or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our express written permission.
10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times or free of errors. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Monnei and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including any financial decisions made based on data or AI output within the App.
11. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the Settings screen. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted from our servers.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
